Installing Mozilla on a Windows PC

Module by: Ricardo Radaelli-Sanchez, Brent Hendricks

Summary: This document explains the steps for Microsoft Windows users to install the Mozilla web browser and the additional fonts necessary to view MathML.

Downloading and Installing Mozilla

  1. Download the Mozilla Installer. When prompted, choose the option to Open this file.
  2. This will launch the Mozilla installer. Follow the on-screen directions to install Mozilla.

    Note:

This may take a few minutes as there are many files to download and install.

Installing MathML Fonts

To correctly view pages with math content, you will need to install some additional mathematics fonts:

  1. Download the Font Installer. When prompted, choose the option to Open this file.
  2. This will launch the MathML font installer. Follow the on-screen directions to install the additional math fonts.

    Note:

You must be online to complete this, since the font installer must download the fonts from the Internet.

Test Your Browser

Mozilla should now be able to browse and render MathML. As a test, go to http://www.mozilla.org/projects/mathml/start.xhtml and verify that the mathematical equations look correct. If you have any difficulties, please contact us.
